    Definīcija: Or Entangling net. With this type of gear, the fish are gilled, entangled or enmeshed in the netting, which may be either single (gillnets) or triple (trammelnets). Several types of nets may be combined in one gear (for example, trammelnet combined with a gillnet). These nets can be used either alone or, as is more usual, in large numbers placed in line ('fleets' of nets). According to their design, ballasting and buoyancy, these nets may be used to fish on the surface, in midwater or on the bottom.
