Definīcija:Eurocontrol comprises 29 Member States (in 2000) with 2 more to be added shortly. It was founded in 1960 to oversee air traffic control in the Upper Airspace of Member States. The signing of the revised Convention in June 1997 expanded the objectives and tasks of the Organisation. The current air traffic control situation has led both the States and the Eurocontrol Agency to aim at the early implementation of the revised Convention from 1998 onwards, as far as is practicable. Apart from the modification of the scope of the Convention, the most visible changes concern the institutional structure of the Eurocontrol Organisation. The Organisation is staffed by over 2.100 people working in six European countries : Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
