Definīcija:The initial action of making available on the Community market, for payment or free of charge, a product covered by the directive, with a view to distribution and/or use in the Community. "Placing on the market" means the moment when the product first passes from the stage of manufacture within the Community to the stage of distribution and/or use on the Community market. Since placing on the market refers only to the first time that the product is made available on the Community market for distribution or use in the Community, the directives apply only to new or reconditioned products manufactured in the Community and to new or used products imported from a third country. They can be placed on the Community market by the manufacturer himself, by his authorized representative in the Community or by the importer of the product.
